Travel with ease between the classic attractions of the North Island discovering fascinating townships and attractions as you journey between Auckland, the Bay of Islands, Rotorua and Wellington. Start from Auckland travelling far north to the beautiful Bay of Islands. Explore Paihia, Waitangi and cruise to Cape Brett. Travel south again stopping in Auckland for a bird’s eye view at the top of 328 metre Sky Tour before continuing through the Waikato region to Rotorua, a land of natural mineral spas, boiling mud pools and shooting geysers. Enjoy a traditional Maori hangi and concert. Visit Huka falls, Lake Taupo, and overnight in the art deco capital Napier. Cross the Rimutaka Ranges to reach our capital city of Wellington and a tour which takes you high above the city and to fascinating points of interest before your final night in New Zealand.

Day 1 Arrive Auckland
Welcome to New Zealand. Be greeted on arrival at the airport by a Kirra Representative and be transferred to your first nights accommodation.

Day 2 Auckland/Bay of Islands
Drive north to Paihia in the Bay of Islands. A local Maori guide will meet you and will provide an insight and history of the Bay of Islands before a visit to New Zealand’s birthplace, Waitangi. A self-guided tour through the Treaty House, the Maori Meeting House and war canoe. This afternoon enjoy a cruise to the ‘Hole in the Rock’ and be able to view the Cape Brett Lighthouse.

Day 3 Bay of Islands
Today is at your leisure, take the time to relax and enjoy the scenery of the Bay of Islands. Your Coach Captain will happily assist with arranging activities for you. Why not try a day trip to Cape Reinga, The northern most point of New Zealand and Ninety Mile Beach. Alternatively, Get the ferry to historic Russell, New Zealand’s first settlement and visit its original Church, Mission House and Museum.

Day 4 Bay of Islands/Rotorua
Travel south through Whangarei to Warkworth and on to Auckland with its majestic harbour. A visit to the summit of Sky Tower, at 328m the tallest building in the Southern Hemisphere, for panoramic views across the city and its two harbours, the Domain and the central city area. Cross the Bombay Hills to the lush farmlands of the Waikato noted for its horse studs and the bush clad Mamaku Ranges to Rotorua, the centre of Maori culture.

Day 5 Rotorua
A visits to the Agrodome to see a display featuring New Zealand’s various sheep breeds and sheep shearing followed by Rainbow Springs to see Rainbow and Brown trout and native birds including the Kiwi. The spectacular Skyline Gondola offers superb views over city, lake and mountains and for a little excitement try a Luge ride with our compliments. There will be time this afternoon for optional activities. This evening enjoy a Maori Hangi (meal) with traditionally prepared meats and vegetables followed by a concert featuring Maori songs, chants and the stirring haka.

Day 6 Rotorua/Napier
View the mighty Huka Falls and the Wairakei Geothermal project before stopping at Lake Taupo, the largest lake in New Zealand. Continue on to Napier, often regarded as the world’s Art Deco capital. On arrival, enjoy a locally guided walking tour of the city.

Day 7 Napier/Wellington
Orchards and vineyards give way to farmland as you travel into the rural heartland of the Wairarapa region. Stop at historic Greytown to view excellent examples of Victorian colonial architecture before travelling over the Rimutaka Ranges to Wellington, the nation’s capital, where you enjoy a city tour on arrival.

Day 8 Wellington/Home
Today is goodbye to all your new found friends before you make your homeward journey. You will be transferred to Wellington Airport to join your flight home.
